Greetings -- I'm Christopher Anastasio, founder of Scala Volpe Capital.  I started this site in order to share with you my insights and knowledge of economics, investing, and the markets.  You'll find these often arcane and complex subjects explained here in a straightforward and understandable way.  My goal is to teach every visitor to the site something new, and in turn aid them in making decisions regarding their investing approach.

As you read through the site, you will encounter a general theme -- support for a free market, capitalist economic system. While not perfect (no economic approach is), it is the only system that has ever brought true prosperity to nations and individual economic opportunity to the citizenry. Government may have a (small) role in society, but that role should not include involvement in the economy or the marketplace. It is simply not viable for a group of a few hundred officials to synthesize all of the available economic data and then make appropriate decisions based upon it. Such an approach has been tried and subsequently failed numerous times in history. We need not repeat such mistakes.

Coming soon....In "Chasing Inflation: Why the Financial Deck is Stacked Against You & What You Can Do About It," I strive to take subjects like inflation, derivatives, and fractional reserve banking, and discuss them in a manner that will be highly usable and enlightening to the reader.  In addition, the book will walk you through a basic chronology of how the economic conditions we know today came to pass.
